Scotty liked all of the clothes that I recomended.

Hello again!

Thank you all for your comments on my miniture tilt-shift post and I'm glad that it is a concept that you all find as interesting as myself. Sorry about the massive break I took from posting. Well I call it a break but I had only written two posts! I've just had a lot to think about recently with my subject choices for my Higher year having to be decided by the end of this week! Despite my parents conformation that choosing my subjects is not deciding my permanat career, I still can't help but think about future ambitions. It seems the more the think about it, the more unsure I become of what I really want to do with my life. I really just wish that I could just enjoy each day as it comes without any uncertainty. However for the time being I have composed a wish-list for spring and if I could, I would own every item on it! The prices range from the afordable to the not quite so affordable but I hope you all enjoy it.

Christopher's Kane's Mandrill dress On of my favourite pieces on the spring/summer runways

The collection of fabulous tights on offer at mytights.com, never fail to impress me and these pretty floral ones are no exception!

All Saints- Wolf Dress

Staying with the wolves, this urban outfitters vest is still great, but cheaper!

Justin boots. These boots are commonly sold in the vintage section of Urban Outfitters.

If there is anything on this list that I will buy, it will definetly be these Celests Stein tights that are again from mytights.com. There covered in old American postage stamps!

The Tokyo bag. My favourite city I've never been to.

Urban Outfitters skirt, the colours remind me of a japanese garden.

All Saints structured dress

Paul and Joe floral dress.

All Saints boots.

Pretty floral tunic from Topshop

I love these Culottes. Anglomania.

I don't who this girl is, or where her dress is from, but how great does she look!

It's a small world afterall

Hi, how you doing?

So I read about "tilt shift photography" a while ago but when viewing some beautiful examples of it online, I have been re-inspired to try it out myself.

Tilt shift is basically when real life photos are taken and then altered to make the image appear to look like a minature model.

The idea is that the photo is generally (but not necessarily taken from a high viewpoint to enhance the model like feel. I found these really great examples online and clear instuctions on how to achieve the effect.

So I've decided that I'm definetly going to give it a try (as soon as I've found a high enough view point with an interesting lookout) and I'll post any later attempts.

Great news! I've discovered that there is infact a Glasgow Fashion Week which I had never ever considered checking. With over 80% of Britain's designers based in London I think that it's definetly a positive thing for young Scottish designers to have somewhere a bit more local to showcase there designs. I mean we're the home of tartan (possible better known as plaid) and how many designers have used the design in their collections. Henry Holland, Vivienne Westwood, Dolce and Gabbana to name yet a few. So apparently this fashion week has existed for years but I'll be sure to attend the fall/winter shows as soon as dates are announced.

I am indeed liking the look of Andreas Geogious's designs (above) that were shown during Glasgow fashion week 2008, they are very playful and quirky. Ricky Sarkany's bohemian style dresses (below) boast Aztec style prints but with a shorter length that keeps the clothes modern looking, very now.

So I am looking forward to attending already but am somehow already expecting it to be held on a school day so errrrrrrr I guess I'll keep updated online?

Have a nice day

Wednesday 4 March 2009

Hi there, I've decided to join the blogging community after being an avid reader of countless blogs for the past year or so. I guess I was stalling this because my unimaginative self was struggling to come up with a name for it. Until, I thought I know! GWENDOLYN! And I like it. And you shouldn't start a sentence with and but still. I think Gwendolyn sounds very English and proper but shes also incredibly well travelled.

So within this blog I hope to cover fashion, photography, art and I don't know, my teenage lifestyle? I guess the aim of doing this is to put a focus to the hours of procrastination when I come in form school every day and to give me something else to do that allows me to escape from schoolwork which seems to dominanting my adolescence recently. Later on i also hope to iclude some interviews, more photos and I may possibly do some street style scouting!

So for now I'll leave you with this video that watched on Quietmilk's blog a while back and I must say I love it. It's an advertisment for the Erin Fetherson collaboration with the American company "Target" Hope you like it.

I'm afraid I'm yet to let how to install actually videos into posts so for the time being......

Have a nice day
